Chiaroscuro

Personal websites should feel like your corner of the internet. Something that doesn't quite feel like anyone else.

For me, that meant hard, sharp, intense, yet still accessible and comfortable.

Business cards

For a long time, I've thought about the information a business card conveys. The internet today has business cards, in the form of social previews, but we've lost the restraint that made them beautiful.

Pile

Rather than a normal mosaic, I wanted the site to feel like scrolling through a private art gallery. Each piece taking up an appropriate amount of space and attention. Each piece expanded to reveal more details. Conveying as much, or as little, as I'd like to using social previews.

Contents

Rather than a fluid bar, the site consists of distinct segments. Inspired by the contents in tools like ChatGPT, I sharpened the bars and altered the decay to create the contents that is live on the site.

Type

Edict was the first thing I decided on, before anything else. It gave the site personality and allowed every other decision to be made in a way that honours the spirit of the type, and honours the work itself.
